Zilin Cui and Patricia Egessa will join Judith Frank to round out the MCCL for this semester. Thank you to all our applicants!
MCCL will be changing membership in the very near future. This week A-Board will discuss an interview/application process for interested candidates to fill vacant committee spots. If you have any questions about MCCL, please send them to Judith Frank at frank20j@mtholyoke.edu.
MCCL's primary mission is to advise the Dean of the College on activities andpolicies
fostering an inclusive community that respects group and individual differences, and that
serves the intellectual, educational, and social needs of its members. The committees
charge is to review, monitor, and propose College policies to assure that all practices
at Mount Holyoke are unbiased and to provide ongoing anti-bias education throughout the
institution. Student Representation has long been an extremely important part of this
process.
The IDEAL representatives selected by the Appointing Board will be students who are
passionate about these community issues, as a group represent some variety of campus
vantage points, and are interested in serving the MHC community in bettering its climate
of multicultural inclusiveness and engagement.
In May the continuing committee members will set the schedule
for next year, and it is hoped that representatives signing on for this semester will
also be interested and available to continue on the committee for the 08-09 year. On
average MCCL meets every other week, for 1.5 hours. Occasional additional meetings and/or
extended sessions are scheduled if an urgent need warrants.
