Cost Overview
You may register for the items listed below via the Symposium's registration form. Payments must be made in UK Pounds Sterling. Registration deadline is 7 September 2009. A cancellation fee of 50% will be charged on all cancellations prior to 7 September 2009. After this date, refunds will not be available. Information on Scholarships is available at the end of this page.
Alumnae may choose between the following two options:
Three Day Alumna Package: £136
Includes: Friday evening reception; Saturday Symposium, Saturday lunch, reception, and dinner; and Sunday's discussions.Saturday-Only Alumna Package: £127.50
Includes: Saturday Symposium, and Saturday lunch, reception, and dinner.
Non-Alumna Dinner Guests: £75.00 per person
Includes: Saturday evening reception and dinner. Guests are welcome to attend panels, lectures, and discussions; library and botanic garden tours are separate charges.
Accommodations:
Accommodations at St. Anne’s College include bed and breakfast, and are available Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26 at the following rates:
- £74.00 per night for an en suite single
- £120.00 per night for an en suite double
Bodleian Library Tour: £6 per person
Friday, 25 September at 2:30 PM (Full)
Saturday, 26 September at 2 PM (Full)
Arranged through the offices of Susan E. Whyman '59, a specially conducted visit to Oxford's world famous Bodleian Library. The tour includes visits to Duke Humfrey's Library, the Reading Rooms and the legendary book stacks beneath the city's streets. The tours will take approximately one hour and are limited to 26 people per tour. Registrations will be accepted through the online registration form and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. We regret that children under the age of 11 cannot join the tour.
Guided Tour of the Historic University of Oxford Botanic Garden on Sunday, 27 September at 2:30 PM: £5.50 per person
The oldest botanic garden in Great Britain, and one of the oldest scientific gardens in the world, was founded in 1621 as a physic garden growing plants for medicinal research. Today it contains over 8,000 different plant species on 1.8 hectares (4½ acres). It is one of the most diverse yet compact collections of plants in the world and includes representatives from over 90% of the higher plant families. (Description courtesy of Wikipedia.org.) Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships are available for alumnae. Please click here to complete a Financial Assistance Request Form. This form must be submitted by 10 August, 2009 to be considered for financial assistance. Applicants will be contacted before the end of August with aid decisions.
