Alumnae Quarterly: Take the Reunion Challenge!
Do you like adventure? Dream of seeing your name in lights, or at least in print? Crave a beautiful prize? Then take the reunion challenge! Travel to this year's reunion in an uncommon way and we'll feature your story in the alumnae magazine, and send it to 30,000 college friends.
If you're thinking about coming to reunion this year by bike or rail or bus or boat, or combining it with another fun trip--or even better, a funny trip—let us know.
Write about and snap pictures of your experiences along the way—that pesky herd of cattle, pulled hamstring in the Rockies, unceasing chatterbox in the terminal, and we'll feature your words—and pictures—in the summer Quarterly. And you’ll win a magnificent MHC T-shirt for your efforts. E-mail mbomann@mtholyoke.edu by May 1 to take the challenge!
In Brief … Sum Up Your MHC Experience in Six Words
Inspired by the new book Not Quite What I was Planning: Six Word Memoirs from Writers Famous and Obscure, the Alumnae Quarterly invites you to sum up your entire MHC experience in exactly six words. For example:
Arrived a stranger. Left with friends.
Studied hard. Played harder. Barely graduated.
Uncommon women. Common ground. Unforgettable opportunity.
Mind closed. Mind opened. World changing.
First year: shy. Senior year: savvy.
We’ll share the best ones on our Web site and/or in the Quarterly. Send yours to eweir@mtholyoke.edu
Last Call for Input: How Are You Coping with the Recession?
The Alumnae Quarterly staff is gathering information for a feature article about how alumnae are coping with the recession. If you are willing to be interviewed by the article’s author, please e-mail a summary of your recession-related experience to eweir@mtholyoke.edu.
