Reunion 2009
Reunion 2009 was a spectacular success, drawing 1,667 alumnae and guests home over the two reunion weekends. This year was particularly exciting: three Back-to-Class programs were Webcast live from the campus, enabling alumnae, family, and friends from around the world to attend live lectures by Mount Holyoke professors and by a Congresswoman and alumna from the class of 1959. The College’s commencement ceremony during Reunion I weekend was also Webcast live; thousands tuned in to watch commencement speaker Mary McAleese, president of Ireland, along with other distinguished speakers.
Reunion 2009 also featured our first-ever “MHC StoryCorps,” inspired by National Public Radio’s StoryCorps. Classmates were recorded interviewing each other about significant moments in their lives. The results are touching, entertaining, and revealing, and will be available on the Virtual Reunion page in July.
