Reunion 2006

Global Reunion

Reunion 2006 from Thursday Registration to Sunday Brunch.

Global Reunion is a pioneering Alumnae Association program that makes reunion highlights available online to alumnae around the world. Global Reunion’s features include:

Online Video

videosThe Alumnae Association filmed the entire Alumnae Parade along with other reunion events and posted Quicktime video clips the same or next day. Some of the popular Back-to-Class courses have been posted in their entirety.

Alumnae Association Photo Galleries

photo galleryThroughout reunion, the Alumnae Association posted hundreds of photos of reunion events and attendees. These candid shots are posted in albums and organized by class and activity. (You can download these photos from anywhere in the world.) The photos can be viewed four different ways. In order to change the view, look for the following icons at the top of the gallery pages:

› Alumnae Member Photo Albums

cameraLinked to the Message Boards is a photo gallery where alumnae can create their own photo albums and upload pictures on or off campus via a Web browser. You can browse photos, post comments, watch a slide show of the images or send e-cards of the images.

In order to upload images you will need to complete a quick online registration for either the message board or the photo galleries. You can also watch a short how-to video that shows you how to register and easily upload your pictures.

Alumnae to Alumnae Message Boards

Alumnae on campus were able to share reunion highlights and updates by posting personal messages and photos via computers available in the dorm headquarters of every class. Alumnae who were off campus could read and respond immediately to these messages.  If you did not get a chance to read or leave messages during reunion, you can do so at any time—the message boards are ongoing and available for use throughout the year.

Technical Notes

To view the videos and Web cam, please download and install the latest version of Apple’s QuickTime media player. If you have iTunes installed, QuickTime is already installed. QuickTime was chosen because it supports both Windows and Macintosh platforms. In addition, it offers excellent audio and video quality in a smaller compressed size. However, even after compression, video content is better suited for DSL/cable or faster internet connections.  Dial-up modem users may want to refer to the photo galleries. All video content was edited on Macs using iMovie.

For improved Web browsing we recommend the free open source Mozilla Firefox Web browser for Windows, Apple, and Linux computer users. It is easy to install and more secure, and offers many more options and enhancements for Web browsing.

Get Firefox!

The free Adobe (formerly Macromedia) Flash Player is required to view some photo galleries.

Please submit a support request to the online Helpdesk if you have questions about or problems with any of the Global Reunion features. You may submit comments and suggestions to Ed Gray.
