Government Information Returns

The Internal Revenue Service requires all Alumnae Association affiliates to either file their own information return, or participate in the Alumnae Association’s annual group return.  Each Alumnae Association affiliate must submit its financial information annually on the forms provided by the Alumnae Association; we consolidate all of this data and use it to complete the group return.  Forms are sent out and available on our website in July or August, and are due back by the date on the form.  Affiliates that do not participate in the Alumnae Association’s group filing by providing the requested financial information in a timely manner must file their own IRS return.  Every affiliate is required by the IRS to file at least the Form 990-EZ, regardless of size or level of activity/inactivity.  Failure to meet annual filing requirements for three consecutive years will result in the IRS revoking tax-exempt status.

It is up to each individual class or club to determine the information filings for their individual state and comply with them.

I am constantly hearing that the future happiness of young women’s personal lives depends on ‘juggling’ and ‘balancing.’ But in the midst of these circus acts is a self
that has been nurtured here, that will lead
you to what you really
want to do.
