Mentoring
Mentor an MHC Student or Alumna
The Alumnae Associations goal is to facilitate mentoring networks that offer MHC alumnae the opportunity to provide guidance to MHC students and alumnae.
Through LifeNet, the Alumnae Associations web-based service, Mount Holyoke students and alumnae can connect with other alumnae for mentoring advice as well as social, personal, and professional networking. They can reach out to alumnae worldwide for information about careers and professions, internships, graduate school, social and cultural activities, and many other areas of interest.
This connection can be a one-time event, or may continue for as long as you, the alumna mentor, and the student or alumna mentee desire. Participating alumnae mentors will be contacted via e-mail or a phone call (you decide how to be contacted) by MHC students and alumnae who have questions about professional and personal growth.
Additionally, we are seeking alumnae mentors in the fields of law and medicine to mentor MHCs Pre-Law and Pre-Health students.
Pre-Law Mentoring
Specific to the field of law, the pre-law mentoring program gives students
an opportunity to discuss law as a potential career path with alumnae
professionals in the field of law. The programs goal is to connect interested
students with alumnae mentors who can guide and involve them in learning
situations that can help increase their chances of academic and professional
success.
Pre-Health Mentoring
Specific to the fields of Health Sciences and Medicine, the pre-health mentoring program gives students an opportunity to discuss their interests with alumnae mentors in a wide variety of careers in the health professions including medicine, both human and veterinary, physical therapy, dentistry, optometry, nursing, public health, and more. The program’s goal is to help interested students connect with alumnae mentors who can guide and involve them in learning situations that can help increase their chances of academic and professional success.
Please be assured that by participating as a mentor or advisor your role is to share your knowledge and provide guidance; it is not to provide the students or alumnae with job placement.
