Village Life Along the Seine 2007 October 11, 2007 [Total:238]
A seven-night cruise along the storied Seine River aboard the M.V. Cézanne. Departed from Paris after a morning tour of the colorful Montmartre neighborhood, the Cézanne followed the riverbanks for close-up views of villages and châteaux. Along the way, we stopped for tours and excursions led by local cultural experts, including visits to Rouen’s Place St-Marc; Monet’s famous house and gardens in Giverny; the Musée de Beaux-Arts Andre Malraux in LeHavre; the Maison van Gogh and Auberge Ravoux in Auvers-sur-Oise, where Vincent Van Gogh spent his final days; and the picturesque fishing port of Honfluer.

Alumnae in Action: Fall 2007 Food Bank Farm Project October 20, 2007 [Total:24]
On Saturday morning, October 20, a group of Mount Holyoke alumnae,
staff, students, and friends gathered together for the fall 2007 Alumnae
in Action service project, held at the Food Bank Farm in Hadley, Mass.
Volunteers helped prepare produce grown on the farm for distribution to
the Food Bank farmers' market and to local shelters and soup kitchens.
Class years of alumnae ranged from 1959 to 2006--while conversation in
the barn ranged from global climate change to the latest news from Mount
Holyoke. Organized by Leanna James Blackwell, director of
communications, and Krysia L. Villón, assistant director of clubs, the
fall 2007 Alumnae in Action project at the Food Bank farm was the latest
in a series of events that bring alumnae together for service project in
their communities.
